Can I regain my sanity now?

I just finished giving my honors thesis defense yesterday in front of the whole political science faculty... and I wonder, why would anyone chose to write an 40+ page paper and then have a group of politically charged, journal editors critique every comma and sentence? Right, so I can have that silly magna cum laude on my diploma. Ok, I guess I'm jazzed... or is it mostly because of the skiing that I get to do this weekend?

The Colorado mountains have been pounded on this week with over two feet of snow. Last week was the same story. This season is settiing up GREAT! Got face shots last weekend and expect to get them this weekend! This is my magna cum laude honors. Give me powder days all season as my "honors" for have school give me hell every other semester and that will sufice... not a little extra ink on my diploma. BUT.... This does not mean that you should not go for honors, it teaches you to work hard and be smarter. It also teaches you to be a pompus ass. Okay, so you can actually learn to work just as hard climbing mountains or avoiding avalanches.

This is now lacking any structure or grammatical perfection. So, the snow that has fallen this week will now be enjoyed.

Open for business

Ski season is officially off and running!

Movie premiers are happening every weekend and my wallet is significantly thinner because of them. But a bigger indicator of the season starting is well... Loveland and ABasin are open! For the first time in 6 years ABasin opened before Loveland and on Friday the 13th no less. Kind of freaky? I don't know, nor do I really care. ABasin opening day was awesome. Beautiful Rocky Mountains still green from fall rains, little flowers poping up here and there... Then. A giant white ribbon streaming down the moutnain amidst it all. With three jibs set up and a crew of awesome skiers already slaying them all, I can tell this season is going to be good. I didn't fall once. And trust me, that's saying something because I regularly abuse my butt and limbs for no apparent reason when I ski. Loveland was nice too this weekend. Much quieter than the Basin and with some other fun stuff set up to slide on. It didn't look so out of place on Sunday as ABasin did since the night before had blessed me with an October powerder day... 3 inches YEAH!! hey, we take what we can get right?

But now, back to reality. The semester still exists and we have to get some kind of education under our belt so that we can justify a life full of ski buming. right?

The not-so learning experience

So I guess I've been convinced to convey my thoughts to the general FHL reading public in the new technology savy means called blogging.

Before you read these blogs I should forclose a warning: I'm a nerd. It's a bad addiction and habit. It's like a destructive drug use. I wish I could quit, but it just isn't possible. I mean, it really would be easier to not be a nerd. Here's why... you don't feel COMPELLED to take huge credit hours your last semester. Nor do you feel the INTELLECTUAL STIMULI to slave over a obessive paper simply to get an extra banner around your neck at graduation simply to blatantly highlight your full induction into into the nerd club. In all reality, it's a waste of time. You spend too much energy on something that amounts to meerly looking like a looser who doesn't know how to have fun. Then to top it off, the whole time your doing this, you're thinking about doing something less nerdy... like skiing. (let not argue how telemark skiing could possibly be nerdy too)

So now that there is something for you to read in this very ineresting blog post. I hope to post back next week or so with something less nerdy.
